Somerset’s best kept secret
Wander at will through our Lavender Garden where we trial over 20 varieties of Lavender. Breathe in the scent and notice the differing qualities of each plant, then rest awhile in the Rose Arbour. In the Lavender Field, see over five acres of Lavender, walk through the field and absorb the sight of more than 50,000 Lavender plants with bees humming, collecting pollen to make our honey.
Take in the wonderful scent.
at RADSTOCK MUSEUM
This award winning Museum celebrates the history of the Somerset Coalfield in the Victorian era.
With galleries on two floors you can learn about blacksmithing, coal mining, shoe and boot making, printing and local breweries. You can experience, through VR technology, a trip down a coal mine. We have displays of fossils and local geology, agriculture and the local S&D railway.
Lots to entertain and absorb both adults and children.
Follow the waterside path around this reservoir on this easy circular walk in Somerset. There is a good footpath running around the perimeter with parking available at the south eastern end. It's a lovely spot with sailboats on the water and beautiful countryside and woodland surrounding the water. It's about two miles around the reservoir so it makes for a nice afternoon stroll.
It's easy to extend your walking in the area with the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and the delightful Strawberry Line route nearby.
Just to the west of the reservoir you can climb across Wavering Down on the West Mendip Way and visit the beautiful Crook Peak. From here you can enjoy wonderful views towards the coast and into Wales.
